    The What

    This workshop is all about the power tools! The really fun ones! The super useful ones that will help you power up your D-I-Y game to do more jobs and tackle more complex projects.

    Under the guidance of an experienced handywoman, you will:

    • learn the safe and proper use of 10 different power tools used for Fixing, Cutting & Finishing from the humble drill to different saws and the planer
    • be introduced to foundational handywoman knowledge, unlocking the mysteries of D-I-Y
    • benefit from demonstrations, easy-to-understand explanations, and both supervised and free-time use either solo or in pairs
    • practice your skills and get both confident and competent with a range of tools and tasks; and
    • have fun in an uplifting, female-friendly, supportive workshop, meeting other keen beginner D-I-Yers

    Especially catering to women who want to gain confidence using key power tools essential for many D-I-Y projects, Power ToolSchool is best suited to beginners. Maybe you've used a drill before, but you weren't sure you were doing it right. Perhaps you've mostly looked on while the men did the thing. But now you're ready to empower yourself.

    This is YOUR opportunity to power up. Women are invited to come along for a hands-on learning experience with a great range of hand-held power tools. Get the skills, know-how and confidence to take on your own D-I-Y projects at home.

    The Why

    Power tools open up a world of possibilities. They are an enabler, allowing you to take on a broad range of tasks - whether you need to undertake regular home maintenance, have an improvement project in mind, or want to D-I-Y a whole renovation!

    But power tools can be scary. Without proper care and attention, improper use can be dangerous. Getting exposure to different categories of tools, and learning how to safely and correctly use them, supports you to develop the confidence, competence and skills that will ensure your project success....whatever you have in mind.
